‘Looks can be deceiving’ can route to a lot of different concepts and ideas – Maybe the monstrous thing is a friend, or just as it appears; Maybe the person with a grotesque look is a kind soul, or maybe not! Each can be used to tell a pretty solid concept of a story, but, honestly, the phrase is a bit of a moot point. Looks can be deceiving, or not! So the phrsae doesn’t exactly hep tell you how to behave when confronting something that you question based on appearances alone.

All that said, the green guy is pretty cool. He just wants to ask when the two of them are gonna hang out by their tree with their spider-goth friend and little gobbo academic nerd friend.
